Chapter 1
“Four weeks, that's quite promotional tour,” David smiled, watching Erica nod back at him.
“My longest in years. I feel like I'm finally back,” She told him, beaming.
“I'm proud of you,” He offered, leaning over to drop a kiss on her lips, “A month is a long time,” He breathed against her lips, “How ever will I cope without you for that long?”
She smiled widely, and shook her head, leaning back. “Well,” She started, her hands in his hair, “I was thinking that if you can take the time off, you might come with me.”
He stared at her for a few seconds, trying to find the words to reply to her. She wanted him to go with her. She was finally ready for them to go public. She wanted to take him with her to Europe. Just the two of them.
“David?” She breathed, studying his face closely.
“I love you,” He breathed, before leaning in to steal her lips. God he loved her. He never thought he'd say it, let alone feel it. But she was different. He was different with her. He was better with her.
“Is that a yes?” She breathed after a few seconds, her words low and breathy as she tried to keep the kiss from getting out of hand. Of course she wanted him, she always did, and they were in her bed after all, but first she needed his answer.
“Are you sure?” He asked, his hands moving from around her waist, to her cheeks so he could look into her eyes. “This is a huge step."
She nodded, smiling brightly at him. “We're ready.” She started, “Bianca reaction to us is the only one I care about and she's happy.”
“There won't be any easing the world into this,” He reminded her.
She nodded, “I know.”
“I don't want us to overshadow your re-emergence into the modeling world,” He breathed, watching her nod.
“It won't,” She told him, no hit of hesitation in her voice, “If anything, having you with me will garner me more press.”
“Are you sure that's a good thing?” He teased, raising an eyebrow at her.
She laughed aloud at that, and nodded,
an enchanting smile on display. “Can you get the time off?”
He nodded, “If not, I can just quit. PVH needs me more than I need them.”
“You'd quit?” She asked, curiously.
“Absolutely. Any man would be crazy to pass up a trip through Europe with you.”
“And our coming out to the world,” She reminded him.
He shrugged, all smiles, “As long as I'm with you, anything else that comes with it is a welcome addition.”
“Either you really love me or you want in my pants,” She teased, watching him nod as he flashed her a wicked a smile.
“Both, always both,” He laughed, leaning in to steal her lips.
She laughed against his lips, leaning into him. She didn't say it enough, but she loved him too. She'd loved him for a long time; long before he'd even said it.
“Mmm,” He murmured against her lips
after making sure he'd left her breathless, “where is our first
stop?”
“Paris,” She pushed out against his lips, “for a ten days.”
“The most romantic city in the world,” He nodded, “Sounds nice.”
“Yes, but not as nice as ten days in Venice.”
“Even better,” He said, and she nodded.
“And then it's to London for the last ten days,” She finished.
“How romantic,” He said, watching her nod, her eyes and smile wide and alive as she looked back at him.
“We get a chartered plane, so we don't have to fly to commercial.”
“Don't get me wrong I'll enjoy joining the Mile High Club on a private jet, but it just won't be the same.”
She laughed aloud at that, and swatted at his chest. “You're horrible.”
“Mmm,” He breathed, nodding as he moved closer, “I am. But you love that about me.”
“Maybe,” She laughed, watching him flash her a knowing smile as he stole her lips into a hard kiss.
“You wouldn't have it any other way,” He blew into her lips, intent to kiss her senseless. Intent to lay her back against her pillows and show her, again, how much he loved her.
“Of course not,” She told him through hard kisses, “but right now you have to leave for work.”
“I've got forty five minutes,” He told her, his lips on hers as attempted to make her mind stop working, and her body take over.
She laughed into his mouth, shaking her head, “If you're late, Joe could fire you.”
“Good,” He told her, dropping a hard kiss against her lips, “means we'd have nothing to come back for.”
“You're terrible,” She laughed again, before pulling away, “and as much as I would love too, I need to get everything ready for our trip. We leave in four days.”
He shook his head reluctantly, “Fine, but you better hold that thought until tonight.”
“I think I can do that,” She told
him smiling happily as she dropped a kiss on his lips this time.
He
shook his head and forced himself to get out of bed. He was on his
feet before he looked back at her, “I love you.”
She nodded, “I know,” She giggled back at him. She knew this was a huge step. Not only were they telling the world, they were going away together for a month. She thought they were ready, though. And that it was exactly what they needed after everything they'd been through. Besides all of that, from the second she'd learned of the shoot, she hadn't been able to picture herself in Europe without him. They were gilding through the canals in Venice. Looking out over the night time Paris skyline, his arms firm and warm around her. She saw them on the Tower Bridge, veiled in the London fog, arms wrapped around each other. Where she was, he was with her; or it wasn't right. Until recently, the idea that she wanted him with her as much as she needed him with her, scared her to death. But now, now she was excited. Happy. In love.
And she couldn't wait to step out on his arm.
