Disclaimer: This story is rated R for sex, violence, language and dialogue.

Let me put this out there right away, this is like nothing I've ever written before. It's not my normal D&E, and I know that you're going to read this and go "OMG, she's lost her mind". But I assure you, I can and will pull it off and pull it all together. I've wanted to write this storyline for a long time and could never figure out how to do so and still keep it true to D&E. But I have the best, most ingenious and brilliant beta on the face of the earth and she figured out how I can pull this off. I promise you, it's worth seeing it through to the end, Alli really is a genius. LOL

I hope you enjoy this and will give me feedback and let me what you think of my taking a walk on the darker side of D&E.

Chapter 1

It was the smell of candles burning that hit him first. The sweet, deep, almost flowery scent of Strawberries and Cream wafted through the room before it burnt into his nostrils. His eyes were lagging behind as they struggled to adjust to the dim light created by the burning candles.

He didn't really need the shadowy images to clear to know what he was seeing. He could hear it in the rustling of the bed sheets. He could hear it in the breathy moans, and the sliding of bare skin. He could smell the deep, musky, sweat laden scent of sex floating through the otherwise sweet air.

He swallowed back a hard gulp of air, and blinked his eyes ,the shadowy images finally clearing.

His wives was the first form that burned into his eyes. Or make that the way her sweat soaked hair falling against her shoulders and arched back, as she bounced up and down on the cock of whoever the man in his bed was. The man's identity was hidden behind Erica's body, so he didn't know who he was going to kill, but if he way the man was mumbling and grunting like a useless caveman was any indication, he wasn't going to be much of a fight.

His fists balled at the thought, and he blew out a hard breath, as he took a step. He'd been trying to move for the better part of a minute, but he wasn't able to muster more then a step before the shock and disgust of the display paralyzed him where he stood.

A breathy moan of the mans name peeled out of Erica's lips, flooding the room with the sound of her passion and the man's name.

Dimitri Marrick was the name that was burning in his ears.

Of course it was Marrick. Of course it was the one man whom he'd never felt he could never replace in her heart. In his bed. In his house. His nails dug into his palms and his body heaved and burned as a hundred different emotions burst to the surface.

He flipped on the lights, hearing Erica's shocked gasp and Marrick's cursing as he flew to the bed.

Erica was rolling off of Dimitri as David swooped down to pull Marrick from the bed.

The rest was a haze, as he pulled Dimitri to standing before connecting with a brutal left hook to the face.

Erica screamed for him to stop as she threw a sheet around her naked body.

David threw Dimitri against the wall, slamming his head into the wall before he raised a knee, driving it deep into Dimitri's stomach. He kept him pinned to the wall, watching him writhe in agony as he continued his merciless assault.

Erica moved around the bed, holding the sheet over her as she tried to plead with David.

It was a useless battle, he realized as Marrick slid down the wall, blood pooling at the corner of his mouth and sliding out of his nose. David was still kicking him wherever his feet could reach, breathing curse words as he beat the shit out of the man who had been a throne in his relationship forever.

" David," Erica cried coming up behind him, " leave him alone."

" Shut up, Erica." He bellowed as he landed a kick square in Dimitri's jaw.

" This isn't going to solve anything." She told him firmly, shaking her head as she put a hand on his shoulder.

He let out an angry laugh and whipped half way around, reaching his hand back to shove her away. He pushed her hard and rough, not caring in the slightest that she was falling backward and crashing against the dresser behind them.

The crash of her body hitting the dark oak of the dresser, and the sounds of the glass mirrors, perfume bottles and pictures frames smashing against the wall and the wood of the dresser, wasn't enough to deter David from his mission. Dimitri slid further down the wall, as David continued his assault. He punched, kicked, stepped, inflicting as much damage as he could to as much of Marrick's anatomy as he could reach.

Erica winced in pain, her back and head slamming against the oak. She braced herself against the dresser a second later and pushed herself to standing, trying to keep the sheet around her as made a bee line to them.

Dimitri was cowering on the floor as he did his best to ward off some of the impact of David's vicious assault, and David was hovering over him, refusing to give in until the bastard hurt the way he did.

" David," Erica breathed from behind him as she moved around him, determined to wedge herself between the two men, " stop this."

" Get out of my way, Erica." He growled trying to push through her as she slid between them.

" This isn't his fault, David." She shot back, firmly wedging herself between them.

His eyes shot to hers, and they locked in a fiery explosion. He stared her down, his body seethed, writhed, anger pulsing through him. He chest throbbed with each breath he took, and his heart felt like it was falling apart at the seems. Every breath he took burned his lungs and his chest threatened to explode against his ribs. " Get out of my way, Erica." He repeated again, the anger in his voice burning like fire as it slid up his throat.

" I'm the one to blame, David." She told him, nodding, " Me." Dimitri hid behind Erica as he tired to crawl away from David.

David watched with dark, angry eyes as she wedged herself tighter between them, moving slowly from side to side as Marrick's pathetic ass crawled towards his clothes.

" What good will it do to keep hurting Dimitri?" Erica asked, as Dimitri crawled along her left side in an effort to grab his pants.

" Hurt him," David said through a dry angry laugh, " He's a dead man."

Dimitri scrambled across the floor managing to scoop up his pants before nearing the door, " I don't know why you're so surprised," Dimitri's voice sounded through the room, " You know she's always loved me." He said through a cocky laugh.

David threw his body into Erica's, his feet flinging forward and around the side of her so that he could drive his heel into Marrick's rib cage. " Bastard." He growled through clenched teeth.

Erica shook her head, raising a hand so that her palm pressed against David's chest, " This is our fight to have, David, not his." She told him, watching his eyes flashed as he connected another kick against Dimitri's chest.

Her skin burned against his. But it wasn't the good burn, the kind that made ever nerve in his body tingle and ache for her. This was a deep, searing, stinging, poisonous, burn that made his breakfast and lunch swirl in his stomach before it flipped over itself, and he thought he was going to be sick.

He swatted her hand away, and shot his eyes to meet hers, "Don't touch me." His voice was rough and hard, the anger inside of him spewing out in his words.
Dimitri was bracing himself against the door, his hands gripping for the doorknob as he tried to open it.

" You have every right to be angry," Erica told him, nodding, "but at me, David. Me. This is my doing. Not his. Let him go, and we'll talk about this."

He cocked his head, eyes blazing and tossed her a dry angry laugh, " I'll go through you to get to him, Erica." He breathed, and she flinched, his works seeming to burn against her skin, " Because he's not leaving here until he feels what I feel." He pushed a shoulder against her this time, not caring if her hurt her in his pursuit to make the bastard feel the empty, angry pain, that swirled inside of him.

Erica held firm and pressed against David, sliding so that Dimitri could grab the doorknob and pull the door open.

Dimitri pried the door open enough to squeeze through and Erica used what was left of her strength to hold David off as Dimitri squeezed out the door. Erica kept her body in line with the now ajar door as Dimitri disappeared through it.

The door slipped shut, and sound of the jams sliding into place the only sound in the otherwise silent room. The air between them was thick and brimming with anger and betrayal. Their eyes were locked, a million emotions flashing in their heated gaze. Neither spoke, both afraid to speak the words that burned in their throats.

" David, I…" Erica finally breathed breaking the tense, angry silence that sparked between them.

" Be quiet." He barked, " Don't say anything." He didn't want to hear any words. He didn't want explanations or rationalizations. He wanted the burning in his veins to settle. He wanted the gutted hole in his stomach filled. He wanted his heart back, so that she couldn't ever have the chance t step on it. He wanted to yell and scream, rant and rave, but he didn't' want words from her.

" I'm..." She breathed, watching his eyes finally shift to meet hers. " I…" She started again, but he shook his head.

" You're what?" He fired at her, " Sorry?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her.

" Yes." She nodded.

He laughed, shaking his head, " For what having sex with another man in our bed, or for getting caught?" He threw at her, his voice riddled with accusation.

" I'm sorry that it came to this." She answered her tone dry and emotionless.

" Selfish to the final bell, aren't you?" He growled, his voice biter and dripping with anger. It was all the same. Empty words, broken promises. He didn't care if she was sorry. He didn't care why or how things had gotten to this point. All he knew was that she was standing before him, baring signs of sex with her ex-husband, and that if he didn't make that bastard hurt the way every inch of him did, he'd have no chance of making it through this. As if there was much of one, anyway.

" I'm selfish," She said through an angry laugh, " This coming from a man who leaves whatever we're doing at the drop of a hat because he's summoned to play God."

" Oh I'm sorry, I forgot it's Erica's world and the rest of us poor slobs just live in it," He yelled back at her, his hole body clenched with anger.

" And you should be grateful." She threw back at him, watching his eyes flash as he shook his head.

" And you should realize that not every aspect of my life pertains to you." He shouted back, watching her shake her head violently.

" So you made abundantly clear every time you walked out on me. "

" For god sake Erica, get over yourself." He threw back.

" Don't you dare try to turn this on me, David." She shouted back, " There's no one to blame for this besides yourself." She added, " You knew what I expected from you, from this marriage before hand, and you couldn't handle it like a man."

" It doesn't matter, Erica. Nothing I could have done would have ever been enough for you, you weren't going to let me." He said through a dry, angry laugh.

" You're failures as a husband are your own, David," She tossed back,, " You simply weren't enough for me." She finished, punctuating that it was him that wasn't enough to keep her happy.

" I'm sorry I wasted your precious time, Erica." He yelled at her, " And I'm even more sorry that I thought there was someone other then the shallow, vapid, slut under that pretty exterior of yours."

The words hardly finished sliding from his lips before her right palm was connecting with his cheek. It was hard, fast, deliberately thrown, and cracked against his check with laser like precision.

" Bastard." She breathed through angry, gritted teeth, " You and this farce of a marriage were the biggest mistake I ever made." She threw at him.

" Then what are you still doing here?" He challenged throwing her a raised eyebrow, " You're knight in shining honor just crawled out of here, he's probably down stairs licking his wounds, I'm sure you can catch him."

" Go to hell." She spit back, her voice angry and bitter.

" What, you don't find weak and worthless appealing?" He asked, his voice still raised just about shouting.

She shook her head and spit out an angry breath of "bastard" and raised her right hand, content to slap whatever words still remained out of his mouth.

He caught her wrist mid swing this time, his fingers gripping into her skin as she shoved her backward and into the door.

She blew out a shocked gasp as her back slammed against the door.

He wedged her between his body and the door, hand still squeezed against her wrist.

" What was it that you wanted to know, David," She asked, not a hint of fear in her voice or her mind, " if weak and worthless turn me on." She finished, flashing him a taunting grin, " It must, I did marry you."

His eyes were locked with hers, her stare cold and emotionless as she looked up at him. He let out a half scoff, half laugh, his teeth clenched as angry pulsed through ever inch of him. He pushed against her, as his right hand raised from his side.

The back of his right palm was poised to swipe down and connect with a direct hit to her cheek.

He drew in a shaky breathy, as he realized his movements. It was like watching himself from somewhere overhead. He was raising a hand to her. A hand that was intent to do something other then touch her and love her. His stomach flipped the other way, and he felt bile rise in the back of his throat. He made himself sick.

She watched him with wide, cold eyes as he stepped back, his hands back at his side. She slid over to her right, moving just enough off the door that he could grasp for the knob.

The cold brass of the doorknob was a hard contrast to the burning anger that beat in every nerve in his body. He was shaking he realized after catching site of his palm on the doorknob. It clicked open a second later, and she scooted to her right, eyes refusing to meet his as he stepped out the door. His body seized and tightened as he moved out the door, hand still on the doorknob as he moved to pull it shut.

The door pulled shut behind him with a deafening thud, the perfect punctuation to a perfect day.
